Hiraeth began as a way to survive grief.

What started as isolated journal entries, unfinished demos, and late-night voice memos slowly evolved into something larger. A project built around memory, loss, identity, and the strange comfort found in carrying pain for too long.

Blending elements of modern metal, atmosphere-driven production, distorted electronics, and immersive visual storytelling, Hiraeth exists somewhere between a band, an archive, and a living myth. Every song, visual, symbol, and performance is connected through an evolving narrative that reflects the emotional weight behind the music without requiring listeners to fully understand the story to feel it.

At its core, Hiraeth is about becoming.

About what grief turns us into. About the versions of ourselves we bury, preserve, or carry forward. About the moments that leave scars long after they’re over.

The project intentionally embraces imperfection. Vocals strain. Paint runs. Symbols decay. Nothing is meant to feel artificial or untouched. Every release is designed to feel human. Physical, emotional, and honest.

While the world surrounding Hiraeth continues to grow through hidden details, recurring imagery, cryptic transmissions, live experiences, and interconnected releases, the music always comes first. The mythology exists to deepen the emotion, not replace it.
